Refuge
Reguge provides a range of services which gives women and children experiencing domestic violent to access to professional support. These services include, National Domestic Violence Helpline, which is open 24 hours a day, every single day; a network of refuges across the country to provide emergency accommodation for women fleeing abuse; independent legal advocacy to provide expert guidance for women going through civil and criminal courts; outreach services to work with women who choose not to leave their home initially and psychologists to help women and children overcome the traumatic effects of abuse. They also run award-winning advertising campaigns to raise awareness of domestic violence and lobby the government hard to ensure that domestic violence remains high on the political agenda.
